Signs of Mice
It’s that time of year. Mice will be heading in or making a way in to find refuge. If mice get inside your home, they quickly set up a nest where they can call home. Then they explore, looking for food and water.
As they go about their way, they may frequent certain paths. As they do this, they will leave behind oils and soil from their fur on their paths. You can see in the pictures where the cable has dark spots on them. These are staining marks from the mice traveling back and forth. Along with these signs, you’ll also see small black droppings as the mice stop and relieve themselves. As well, mice don’t have bladder control, so everywhere they travel, they mindlessly leave behind urine samples.
If you find signs of this, it is a very good idea to clean this up as soon as possible. The droppings can dry out and release airborne contaminants that can be very unhealthy. The dried urine is effectively invisible, but the pathogens are still present and can also become a severe health hazard.
