Insects and COVID-19

It’s been a long haul. Social distancing, hygiene practices, home schooling, and working from home, it’s been a transforming time. So much information has been coming from so many places, it can make your head spin. Good news is we’re learning more details that are helpful to understand what we’re up against, and how we can move forward, getting back to some level of normalcy.

One fact that we can celebrate comes from Jim Fredericks, Ph.D., chief entomologist for the N.E. Pest Management Association. He reports that there is currently no evidence that indicates pests like mosquitoes and ticks can transmit the COVID-19 disease.

This is especially good news with summer right around the corner. And with more and more testing, leading scientists and medical professionals are calculating more details that show good promise that we can get back to work and normal livelihoods.

We hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. We have a lot to be thankful for in this country, and God willing, we’ll have a special reason for celebrations this July 4th.
